Palazzetto Pisani

The Palazzetto Pisani is a magnificent building overlooking the Grand Canal, close to Campo Santo Stefano and the Accademia Bridge, which makes every stay in Venice unique and immerses guests in an atmosphere of refined elegance.

History of Palazzetto Pisani

The Pisani family, known for their commercial and financial activities in Venice since the 1300s, left their residence in Santa Maria del Giglio and had the palace built in Santo Stefano, where their descendants lived. This majestic building, however, did not overlook the Grand Canal.

It was for this prestigious view that Andrea Pisani bought the Palazzetto in 1751 from the Marquis Giovanni Poleni, with its own façade on the Grand Canal. At that time, the interior was modified and the wall separating the two buildings was demolished, but the changes only lasted a few years.

The Pisani family continued to own the building until 1816, when it became the private residence of the Duke of Genoa, while during the Second World War it was occupied by British officers. At the end of the war, the last heirs of the Pisani family bought back the Palazzetto and made it their residence.

It is now inhabited by the Counts Ferri De Lazara, direct descendants of the Pisani family, who continue the tradition of hospitality of their ancestors: the rooms and suites, equipped with every modern comfort, but also rich in history and tradition, are furnished in the ancient and original style of the period, transporting the guest into the evocative atmosphere of the Venetian palaces of the past.
