PALAZZO GRIMANI

Palazzo Grimani, near Campo Santa Maria Formosa, is an ancient palace of XVI century, now a state Museum.

The palace was purchased by Antonio Grimani and owned by his family for a long period.

The palace had been rebuilt in a classical style and the museum is now exhibiting 20 new greek and roman sculptures of the Grimani collection inside the “room of the doge”.

The palace is an unique and stunning jewel, a tribute to classicism from the renaissance period of the XVI century.

Palazzo Grimani is a Renaissance-style palace located in the San Polo district of Venice, Italy. It is considered one of the finest examples of Venetian Renaissance architecture, and it is a popular tourist attraction.

The palace was built in the 16th century by the Grimani family, a wealthy and influential family in Venice. It was designed by the architect Giovanni di Santi and features a number of notable architectural elements, including a grand entrance, a central courtyard, and a loggia (covered balcony) overlooking the Grand Canal. The palace is also home to a number of frescoes, paintings, and sculptures by artists such as Tintoretto, Titian, and Veronese.

Today, Palazzo Grimani is open to the public and is home to a museum that features a collection of art and artifacts from the Renaissance and Baroque periods. The museum is open to the public from Tuesday to Sunday, from 10:00am to 6:00pm. Admission is free for children under 18, and tickets for adults can be purchased online or at the ticket office.
